Microbiological Efficacy

  Soluscope D In vitro tests

Soluscope chemistry and process have been tested by the most famous laboratories according to the French, British, European, Australian and US standards. The minimum disinfectant concentration used in the Soluscope is 0,2% whilst the Minimum effective Concentration (MEC) determined by the tests is 0,15%. Most of the tests were done in worse case conditions: product at the end of its shelf life, below the minimum used concentration, with organic soil and hard water, in order to reinforce the margin of safety.

  Soluscope process in use tests

The in use tests evaluate the process efficacy by using artificially contaminated endoscopes that are sampled after being reprocessed in the Soluscope. The methods used are slightly different (inoculum, type of sampling liquid…) but they all placed Soluscope in the worst possible conditions: contamination of all channels with an inoculum > 106 microorganisms per ml with interfering substances, without precleaning of the endoscope, waiting until the contamination material has dried into the channels. Soluscope has successfully passed the French Germande evaluation and the British one from HIRL

  Self disinfection evaluation test

Self disinfection test done by the Germande One of the most encountered troubles with washer disinfectors is their big risk to get contaminated and to be a potential source of endoscope infection. Soluscope has been the first washer disinfector to have its self-disinfection capability tested. A self-contamination occurs for 3 main reasons : a failure or a back flow contamination of the water treatment system (filter, UV, etc) that contaminates the machine, a misconception of the hydraulic circuit (dead ends) that prevents a total disinfection of the machine, or a contamination of the machine from the endoscope.

See self disinfection for more information about this special feature of Soluscope.
The evaluation of the self disinfection cycle was done to simulate a malfunction of the filtration system that led to a heavy contamination of the machine.
